Alvvays. Fun Music, Stupid Name.

Image
Alvvays (pronounced Always) is an a band from Canada. They have picked this spelling of the word Always because they're was already a banded named "Always." So instead of simply picking a new name they chose to make their name confusing and stupid. When I found them I spent a good 5 minutes just staring at the name trying to fidgure out how to pronuce it before I gave up and googled it. Anyway that extreamly spefic grevience aside, the music they make is actually very good. Hailing from Canada they have five members. Led by main vocalist and song writer Molly Rankin the rest of the band conists of Molly's childhood friend and keyboardist Kerri MacLellan, lead guitarist Alec O'Hanely, bassist Brian Murphy, and drumer Sheridan Riley. Typing this out this may be the most Canidan sounding band of all time. They've relseased two albums up to this point: 2014's self-titled Alvvays and 2017's Antisocialites. Both albums are pretty good so lets talk abou

great albums that i dont wanna write out whole reviews for

Hello! As someone who chose to write about music, I listen to a lot of music. Now, that should seem like a "no $#*!" statement but it's true. However, due to a combination of laziness and time constraints, there's just not enough time for me to write out full reviews of great albums. So instead I'm gonna write quick reviews on 10 albums I think are great but don't want to write out whole reviews on. Let's get started! This Is Happening LCD Soundsystem     LCD Soundsystem sounds like what would happen if David Bowie and Daft Punk formed a band and tried to imitate the Talking Heads. With catchy grooves and lyrics that sound the ravings of the main character of any collage movie. This Is Happening is one of the catchiest records I've ever heard. It also has my favorite songs of all time with the opener Dance Yrslf Clean. Oh yeah and heads up the songs on this are stupid long. It's only 9 songs but it's over an hour. Best songs: Dance Yrslf C

I like Brockhampton. I really like Brockhampton. I was gonna write a completely different blog post for this one. I had it all planned out we were gonna talk about Death Grips and Flying Lotus and a bunch of weird experimental stuff like that, but then I heard that second track with JPEGMAFIA and I knew I had to write about this. You can 100% skip the next two paragraphs if you're already familiar with Brockhampton (or don't care lol) and just want to hear the review.      Now for those who don't know Brockhampton is a hip-hop/R&B boy band from Texas, based in Los Angeles. They met on a Kanye West fan forum called KanyeToThe and started making music together. There are a bunch of members but for the purposes of this review on a few are important. Kevin Abstract is the closest thing the band has to a frontman. He has the biggest solo career and made waves for being an openly gay rapper in the hypermasculine genre that is hip-hop. Dom McLennon is in my opinion the b

he dont miss: Tame Impala

Hello! Welcome to a new series that I'm calling "He Don't Miss" where I review every album in an artist's discography that I believe have little to no misses. Todays artist is psych-rock/psych-pop band Tame Impala or rather Kevin Parker as he is the only member of the band that actually writes and records songs. Tame Impala has been hugely popular in the past decade propelling Kevin Parker to work with some of the biggest names and collect some of the highest-profile fans in the music industry. Kevin Parker has worked with Kanye West and Travis Scott (on Violent Crimes and Skeletons respectively), been shouted out by Tyler The Creator on multiple occasions, had one of his songs covered by Rihanna , headlined one of the biggest music festivals in the world in Coachella in 2019, was nominated for several Emmys, and most importantly: has become the favorite band of everyone's most pretentious friend. You don't become of the most popular bands in the w

Many of you already know of Denzel Curry. Maybe you don't know who exactly the Miami Rapper is but I am willing to bet that you have heard his 2015 single turned meme, Ultimate . Now although many people only know Denzel Curry for Ultimate that is not all that he is known for. Denzel started making waves with his underground mixtapes and debut album "Nostalgia 64" and made his big breakthrough off the absolute energy of Ultimate. Zel was able to follow up on the success with Ultimate with his 2016 project "Imperial" which features several trap bangers such as ULT , Gook , and Knotty Head . This album while also being filled with high energy savage trap bangers also had its softer more musical moments such as Zenith  and Good Night   Imperial was met with critical acclaim and helped saved Denzel from the dreaded label of One Hit Wonder. It also helped put Denzel on the 2016 XXL Freshman class alongside artists like Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, and Anders

yeah thats pretty good: Little Dark Age

Hello! Today on "yeah thats pretty good", a name which i am blatantly ripping from several people , we are going to talk about MGMT's 2018 Synth-Pop record "Little Dark Age." This is a record that sees the duo return to a more pop-oriented sound of their debut record "Oracual Spectatual" which saw radio hits like " Electric Feel ", " Time to Pretend ", and " Kids ". The duo followed up "Oracual Spectatual" with their 2010 album "Congratulations", an album which isolated their large fan base expecting something more poppy but found the weird alternative songwriting the Duo which attracted them a cult following. After a hiatus due to the mixed reception of their 2013 self-titled album, MGMT returned with 2018's "Little Dark Age" To call this album a return to form is an understatement. On "Little Dark Age" MGMT blends the experimentalism of their last two albums with the more mains
